One thing I miss about city life is the
ethnic restaurants. It turns out that
we have (or had) a great Italian
restaurant right here in Crestline,
cleverly disguised as a
hole-in-the-wall catering to locals.
(That's the best kind.) I ate there this
last October 31, 2014, and found that
the food was great, the staff was
friendly, and the atmosphere was
inviting and casual. Think of it as our
own mountain version of the Olive
Garden or Alfredo's, minus the fancy
service and price. Trip Advisor and
Yelp both give the place 4 stars out of
5. Facebook gives it 4.5 stars out of 5.
You probably already knew, it's Pazzo's. We went there
several times in 2015.
They are located at 23476 Crest Forest Drive, Crestline, CA 92325. To get there, from Hwy 18, go up Hwy 138 to the stop sign. It's across the street on the right, in the tavern group. A map is shown below.
Sadly, Pazzos was lost to a fire. The historic building burned up. Maybe some day we will find another as good.
